Computer Labs

Elms College has four operational computer labs located on our Chicopee campus. Each lab contains a number of Elms College network PCs with flat screen monitors and a printing station that can be accessed by anyone with a valid Elms College user ID. All of our lab and classroom computers are PCs running a version of the Windows operating system. Software available on these PCs includes the Microsoft Office Suite 2010 and Internet Explorer.

Two of our labs are general purpose. The Mary Dooley College Center room houses 11 Dell Optiplex 390 PCs with 4GB RAM running Windows 7 Professional. Berchmans Hall room 209 has eight Dell Optiplex 270 PCs with 1 GB RAM running Windows XP Professional. These labs are accessible as long as their respective buildings are open during the semester.

Our two larger labs also double as classrooms and are therefore only available for general use when no class is present. The Alumnae Library has a computer classroom/lab located on the basement level. This lab houses 20 Dell Optiplex 390 PCs with 4GB RAM running Windows 7 Professional, and an instructor podium equipped with a PC and other media devices which are connected to a ceiling mounted projector for instructional presentations. Berchmans Hall room 203, our largest computer lab, contains 28 HP DC5800 PCs with 2GB RAM running Windows XP Professional. This lab also has a fully equipped instructor podium that is connected to a Smart Board for presenting.

Please abide by some basic rules when using an Elms College computer lab:

  • Please log into all Elms College computers with your unique Elms College user ID
  • Please remember to log off of a machine after use to protect your data
  • Do not bring food or drinks into the lab
  • Please leave your workstation in a neat and clean condition as a courtesy to others
