SPAM Information
Please be aware that our institution is susceptible to SPAM attacks. The Elms College Information Technology Department will never ask for your username or password in an email correspondence or over the phone. The Elms College Information Technology Department will also never supply "links" in emails to repair or validate account information. Please do not respond to such emails and delete them immediately.
Also note other types of SPAM are becoming more common. One type, the fraudulent delivery validation message, looks like it is from a major shipping company when nothing has been ordered. Do not click on any links in the message and delete it immediately. Another type, designed to "scare" the user into revealing private information, may look like it is from a tax or accounting service, or a collection agency. Legitimate businesses will never solicit confidential information through email.
If you believe your email account has been compromised by a SPAM attack, please notify helpdesk@elms.edu as soon as possible. Remember, guarding yourself against SPAM helps protect our entire institution.
