Sport Management
Sports organizations need to be well managed and operate efficiently. This major prepares students to work in sport organization. At Elms College, the sport management major is interdisciplinary, integrating the following academic disciplines taught here.

There are many outstanding internship possibilities within the Western Massachusetts and Connecticut Valley area. For example, Springfield is home to the Western Mass Pioneers, a professional soccer club, the Springfield Falcons of the American Hockey League, league headquarters for the AHL, the Volleyball Hall of Fame, and the Basketball Hall of Fame. The newest team in Springfield is the Armor, which is playing in the NBA Developmental League. Sports World in East Windsor, Connecticut offers internships in managing soccer and lacrosse leagues.
Honors Program: Exceptional students with a 3.5 GPA or above will be eligible for a special six-credit summer internship program. These internships require being full-time in a sport organization. Qualified students can also choose to complete a four-credit sport internship and a three-credit coaching internship.
