"Children who hear acquire language without any particular effort. They catch words on the wing, delightedly; while the little deaf child must trap them by a slow and often painful process." — Helen Keller
For people with impaired hearing, language, or speech, the world can be transformed through the efforts of professionals who work with people with speech and language disorders. Students in our communication sciences and disorders (CSD) programs become compassionate and caring professionals working in hospitals, clinics, and school settings.
While earning your bachelor's in CSD, you have the option of concurrently earning an associate degree in SLPA, which may be professionally beneficial.
Our faculty are licensed professionals who work right here in western New England, and bring their knowledge, experience, and real-world understanding to the classroom.
You can major in communication sciences and disorders to earn a bachelor of arts degree, which prepares you for graduate study in speech-language pathology, audiology, or education of the deaf and hard of hearing.
You may also choose to study to become a speech-language pathology assistant (SLPA) and earn a bachelor of arts or an associate of arts degree. Our graduates have a 100 percent success rate finding positions as speech-language pathology assistants in school settings.
