Computer Information Technology
Think about the number of computers you see in your everyday life. Not just the one you're at now, but the one at the checkout counter at your favorite store, video game consoles, Tivo and DVRs, and GPS units, to name just a few. We are turning to technology for just about everything, and the need for skilled designers and information technology (IT) professionals is on the rise.
As of 2007, 90 percent of the graduates from Elms' computer information technology program found jobs within six months.
Elms College's computer information technology (CIT) program has two tracks: design, and information technology. They can put you on your way to achieving your professional goals and mastering this ever-changing, ever-growing field.
The design track is intended for students who want to delve into the creative, artistic side of computer technology. We cover a variety of topics, including video games, web ads, photo manipulation, and graphic design.
Our IT track gives you a well-rounded education and covers web and traditional programming, database design, tech support, and networks and security.
Our students are a committed group who feed off of one another's talents and work together in a classroom setting that revolves around practice, not theory. Our faculty lectures on average only about half of the class period; the rest of the time is spent doing hands-on projects with faculty support in our state-of-the-art computer labs.
Recent graduates have gone on to work as creative graphic designers for national corporations and ad agencies, database engineers, help-desk managers, field technicians, assistant webmasters, and programmers.
So the question is, what will you do with a CIT degree from Elms?
