Bachelor of Science in Nursing

The nursing program at Elms College provides the knowledge, skills, and attitudes required to become a successful, professional nurse. Academic excellence makes a difference in the education of nurses. Thus, our baccalaureate nursing curriculum integrates a strong liberal arts and sciences curriculum with the nursing specialization. The nursing courses emphasize nationally recognized competencies for nurses and health professionals.

Our nursing faculty delivers the curriculum using contemporary teaching methods. These include classroom instruction, clinical learning experiences and state-of-the-art simulation for skill and competency development that provides real world understanding.

To ensure a comprehensive nursing education, students will learn to care for the sick in and across all types of healthcare environments, provide health promotion and clinical prevention, and deliver population-based care.

We value our students enjoying a balanced student life, thus nursing students are fully integrated into everything the college has to offer, including clubs, residential life, and athletics.

Ultimately, through rigorous coursework coupled with ample clinical practice, our nursing students become knowledgeable, innovative professional nurse leaders equipped with excellent education and training that will prepare them to drive change in healthcare and make important contributions to safety and quality.

Preparation for the National Council Licensure Examination is emphasized throughout the curriculum.
