Joint Bachelor's Degree Programs at Elms College and HCC

Holyoke Community College and Elms College have partnered to create a unique weekend program that offers students the best of both colleges. The end result is an affordable bachelor's degree from Elms College with classes being offered right on the HCC campus. And you can complete your degree in just 20 months. Degrees are currently offered in accounting and information systems, business management, and psychology, with two new programs in early childhood leadership and health services administration planned for January 2012.

How It Works

The Elms College bachelor's degree completion programs offered on-site at HCC meet all general requirements of Elms College. You enter this program with the required associate's degree, satisfy Elms' core requirements, and complete the requirements of your specific degree program. Essentially, you earn a degree from a private institution in a familiar public school setting.

Classes are held on the HCC campus Friday evenings 5:30 to 9:30 p.m. and Saturdays, 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. and 1 to 5 p.m., and are taught by HCC and Elms Faculty. By including up to 18 credits of classes from HCC and 42 credits from Elms, you are able to complete your coursework in ten seven-to-eight-week sessions over a 20-month period. At six sessions and 36 credits per calendar year, you can save thousands of dollars by completing your degree in this uniquely affordable program.

When you finish the program, you will be awarded an Elms College Bachelor of Arts degree.

Who Is Eligible

All graduates who have earned an associate degree from any accredited institution are eligible to apply to this program. Elms College will provide a full-time program coordinator to facilitate academic advising, course registration, and orientation on the HCC campus.
