General Admission Criteria
Each application submitted to Elms College is reviewed on its own merit, excluding applications to the nursing program to which admission is competitive. While we understand each state requires its own standards for graduation, Elms recommends a minimum college preparatory course-load to insure a students success in the Elms classroom.
These classes are:
- 4 years of English
- 3 year of Math (4 for Nursing Majors)
- 3 years of laboratory science (4 years for Nursing Majors including Chemistry)
- 3 years of history or social science
- 2 years of the same foreign language
Elms College also encourages applicants to submit scores taken on AP exams. Official scores must be submitted directly from the testing agency to Elms College. Typically scores of "3" or better are awarded college credit. Students who are enrolled in duel enrollment college courses or have taken summer courses at a local college must submit an official transcript to Elms College in order to have credit awarded for courses taken. Courses that are 100 level or higher with a grade or C or better (C+ for Nursing core courses) will be awarded credit.
