Scholarships

Elms College offers Grants and Merit-Based Scholarships to both students admitted directly from high school as well as transfer students.  Students cannot combine any of the following scholarship or grants.   All students, once accepted to the college, are automatically reviewed for one of the following scholarships or grants; there is no separate application:

First Year Students:

Elms Presidential Scholarship: Offered to our strongest applicants admitted directly from their senior year in high school with superior academic records. Awards range from $12,000-$14,000* per academic year.  The Elms Presidential Scholarship is automatically renewed for a maximum of four consecutive years as long as the student maintains continuous full-time enrollment at Elms College as well as a 2.8 GPA.

Elms Distinguished Scholarship: Offered to applicants admitted directly from their senior year in high school with outstanding academic records. Awards range from $10,000 to $12,000* per academic year. The Elms Distinguished Scholarship is automatically renewed for a maximum of four consecutive years as long as the student maintains continuous full-time enrollment at Elms College as well as a 2.8 GPA.

Elms Scholarship:  Offered to applicants admitted directly from their senior year in high school with strong academic records.  Awards range from $8,000-$10,000* per academic year.  The Elms Scholarship is automatically renewed for a maximum of four consecutive years as long as the student maintains continuous full-time enrollment at Elms College as well as a 2.8 GPA.

Elms Opportunity Grant:  Offered to applicants admitted directly from their senior year in high school.  Awards range from $6,000-$8,000* per academic year.  The Elms Opportunity Grant is automatically renewed for a maximum of four consecutive years as long as the student maintains continuous full-time enrollment at Elms College as well as satisfactory academic progress.

Deanery Scholars Program: Offered to admitted students from within the Dioceses of Springfield, Massachusetts based on the student's involvement in the life of their parishes as nominated by clergy, diocesan leadership, teachers, or parishioners. Nominated students will be asked to complete an application form including an essay, and will be interviewed by members of the Deanery Scholars Program Committee. Students accepted into the Deanery Scholars Program will take three courses in theology over their four years at Elms, and will be asked to participate in Campus Ministry events as well as to continue involvement in parish activities. Award value equals 50 percent of the tuition of the academic year of which the student enters Elms College and will be automatically renewed for a maximum of four consecutive years as long as the student maintains continuous full-time enrollment at Elms College, satisfatory academic progress, and meets the terms and conditions for renewal as described in a meeting with the Deanery Scholars Program Director.

*Students must maintain on-campus residency status in order to be offered and receive the higher range of a scholarship or grant.

Transfer Students:

Elms Transfer Presidential Scholarship: Offered to our strongest transfer applicants admitted  with superior college academic records. Awards equal $10,000 per academic year.  The Elms Transfer Presidential Scholarship is automatically renewed for a maximum of three consecutive years as long as the student maintains continuous full-time enrollment at Elms College as well as a 2.8 GPA.

Elms Phi Theta Kappa Scholarship: Offered to applicants who are members of Phi Theta Kappa. Awards equal $10,000  per academic year. The Elms Phi Theta Kappa Scholarship is automatically renewed for a maximum of three consecutive years as long as the student maintains continuous full-time enrollment at Elms College as well as a 2.8 GPA.

Elms Transfer Scholarship:  Offered to transfer applicants admitted to Elms College with outstanding academic records.  Awards equal $8,000 per academic year.  The Elms Transfer Scholarship is automatically renewed for a maximum of three consecutive years as long as the student maintains continuous full-time enrollment at Elms College as well as a 2.8 GPA.

Elms Transfer Opportunity Grant:  Offered to transfer applicants admitted to Elms College with strong college academic records.  Awards equal $6,000 per academic year.  The Elms Transfer Opportunity Grant is automatically renewed for a maximum of three consecutive years as long as the student maintains continuous full-time enrollment at Elms College as well as satisfactory academic progress.
