Residence Hall Amenities and Useful Items
Every resident student is supplied with a bed, bureau, desk, desk chair, and wardrobe/closet. All rooms have access to wireless Internet, as well as basic cable service.
We recommend you bring the following useful items with you upon moving into your residence hall:
- Blankets
- Sheets (beds are regular twin size in residence halls)
- Pillows
- Comforter
- Towels
- Medical insurance card
- Scissors
- Stapler and staples
- Batteries
- Scotch tape
- Notebooks/binders/folders
- Office supplies - pens, paper, etc.
- Plastic storage bins
- Fan
- Plastic shower caddy
- Toiletries
- Toothbrush/toothpaste
- First aid kit and Ace bandage
- Antibiotic ointment
- Pain reliever
- Shower shoes/flip flops
- Stamps
- Key chain
- Push pins for cork board
- MP3 player/speakers
- Alarm clock
- Flashlight
- Study and/or room lamp
- Laundry basket and supplies
- Cable TV cord
- Power strip/surge protector
- 3M Command strips/hooks (to be used for all items hung on walls)
- Clothes hangers
- Refrigerator (no larger than 2.2 cubic feet)
- Portable ironing board and iron
- Wastebasket
- Quarters for washer/dryer and vending machines
The following items are NOT permitted in the residence halls:
- Candles
- Incense
- Halogen lamps
- Microwave ovens
- Toasters
- Sun lamps
- Open heating coils
- Electric frying pans
- Air conditioners
- "Washable" wall paint
- Anyting that will permanently stick to walls, doors, windows, ceilings, etc.
