Resident Advisors and Professional Staff

The Office of Residence Life is made up of both student and professional staff. Currently we have 12 resident advisors (RAs), sophomore, junior, or senior students who have chosen to take on this leadership role. Each floor or wing in the residence halls is assigned an RA who is responsible for creating community, developing programming to engage the students on the hall, assisting students with the transition to college, and enforcing college policy. In addition, RAs act as the primary referral source for students who live on campus.

The RA staff goes through an extensive training program twice a year to learn the skills necessary to perform their job.  RAs learn how to mediate roommate conflicts, liaison with residents and offices on campus, coach residents on personal safety and residence hall safety, and a wide variety of other student-centered skills.
