Staff Positions

Vice President of Institutional Advancement

Elms College, located in the beautiful, historic, and culturally rich Pioneer Valley of western Massachusetts, invites applications and nominations for the position of Vice President of Institutional Advancement.

Reporting to the President, the Vice President will serve as the College's chief advancement officer and  provide vision, leadership, and strategic planning to garner support from both traditional and non-traditional sources; supervise and manage all areas of advancement; work closely with all internal and external constituencies to identify, cultivate, and establish long-term philanthropic relationships; and create sound infrastructure to ensure accurate, timely, and compliant communications and reporting.

Requirements

The successful candidates should have at least 5 years of fundraising and management experience in higher education; excellent communications skills; and a proven track record in major gifts, comprehensive campaigns, planned and deferred giving, corporate and foundation solicitation and annual fund programs.  Experience with a private college and experience in Catholic higher education is preferred.  Bachelor's degree required; master's preferred. A background check will be conducted upon hire. Valid driver's license is required. Review of applications will begin immediately and continue until the position is filled.

Assistant Director of Financial Aid

The Assistant Director of Financial Aid is responsible for providing students and their families with a full understanding of the federal and institutional financial aid process and administering financial aid programs for the College.

Primary duties include: counseling and advising students/families on all aspects of financial aid (eligibility, application procedures, costs, etc.), performing federal needs analysis, interviewing applicants, processing financial aid applications, determining eligibility, coordinating state scholarship programs, assisting with creating financial aid policies and procedures, and in the production of informational brochures, forms, etc. This individual will also assist in the daily office management of Financial Aid and filling in for the Director as needed. Supervises one F.A. Assistant and student employees. May conduct informational workshops. Other duties as detailed in the job description and as assigned.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree required plus 3 to 5 years experience providing Financial Aid counseling. Requirements: must have basic knowledge of federal and state financial aid processes, procedures and regulations, excellent interpersonal, communication, organizational and analytical skills; computer proficiency with Microsoft and financial aid software (PowerFaids), self-motivated and able to work independently as well as on teams. Some evening, weekend, holiday work may be required. Background check will be conducted.

Faculty Positions

Nursing Skills Lab Coordinator

The Division of Nursing at Elms College is seeking a Nursing Skills Lab Coordinator (NSLC). This is a full-time, non tenure track, 10-month faculty position which will begin mid-August 2010.

Responsibilities

The NSLC is responsible for managing the nursing skills laboratory by providing a broad range of educational, technical and managerial functions to support the teaching and learning activities of nursing faculty and students. Key responsibilities include: teaching nursing skills; developing simulation; managing lab space, equipment and resources; faculty development and collaboration; serving on committees, and other duties as assigned by the Chair based on Nursing Division needs. Salary is commensurate with experience and academic qualifications. Background check will be conducted.

Qualifications

  • Masters in Nursing or currently matriculated in a master's program
  • 2+ yrs. recent clinical nursing experience; medical-surgical preferred
  • Minimum one (1) yr. teaching experience preferably in an academic setting
  • Experience using simulation technology and designing/implementing innovative teaching strategies
  • Strong computer knowledge and skills
  • Demonstrated leadership, management, organizational, and communication skills
  • Ability to work cooperatively with Nursing students, faculty, staff
  • Current licensure as a Registered Nurse in Massachusetts.
