Academic Divisions
At Elms College, we organize our academic programs into seven divisions. To find individual programs of study, either click on one of the academic division links below, or visit our programs of study page.
Our business programs prepare you for careers in accounting, business management, marketing, healthcare management, and international business. Our legal studies and paralegal programs provide you with an in-depth legal foundation, supplemented with practical experience.
Our program is distinguished by our faculty, who are licensed professionals working right here in western New England. Ninety-seven percent of our undergraduate CSD students are accepted to graduate schools throughout the nation immediately after graduation, and our speech-language pathology assistant graduates typically find jobs in the region thanks to our program's reputation, and our strong network of professionals and alumni.
At Elms College, you are equipped with the knowledge you need to engage your classroom and teach with confidence and authority. Initial teaching licenses earned at Elms qualify you to teach in Massachusetts and more than 40 states, islands, and territories, including all of the New England states and New York.
An education in the humanities and fine arts allows you to develop your appreciation of art and literature, examine the role of religion in civilization, understand the past and its relation to the present, contemplate the evolution of ideas, learn about other cultures and languages, and recognize that creativity is central to all human activity.
Our programs in biology, chemistry, and math examine the foundations of the natural world. Within our computer Information Technology program you can choose a design or information technology track. In these programs, you learn in a hands-on environment, with ample laboratory time and opportunities to assist faculty in their research.
Our nursing program prepares you for careers in such specialties as cardiac care, emergency rooms, pediatric care, critical care, geriatrics, community health, and family nursing. We also teach you to be leaders in the demanding healthcare field.
Our graduates are committed to the pursuit of social justice, the enhancement of everyone's quality of life, and the development of the full potential of each person, group, and community in society.
Rather than concentrate on one area, you may, with the assistance of your academic advisor, carve out an educational program that combines several disciplines to satisfy your interest in professional studies or liberal arts.
