Work-study: A Job On or Off Campus That Puts Money in Your Pocket
Federal work-study funds provide part-time on and off-campus jobs for students during the academic year. Your wages serve to supplement everyday expenses and are not credited toward your student account. Work-study is an earnings potential and you are paid based upon the hours you work.
At Elms College, jobs opportunities are posted outside the financial aid office and e-mailed to eligible students who in turn set up interviews with campus offices and academic divisions to fill open positions. Students have worked for athletics, admissions, information services, facilities, marketing, America Reads, campus minitstry, the library, and various academic departments, and new opportunites arise every year. Even though there are many exciting opportunities to take advantage of the work-study program, there is no guarantee of a position.
