Adjunct Faculty Position - History
The Division of Humanities & Fine Arts at Elms College is seeking an adjunct faculty member for fall 2013 to teach the History of Latin America (Mon. 4:15-6:45pm). This course will offer a broad survey of the political, economic, and cultural history of Latin America from the early 1800s to contemporary times.
Qualifications
Minimum of a master's degree in history; experience teaching at the college level strongly preferred. Class time is non-negotiable.

Faculty Position - Half-Time - Psychology
Elms College is seeking applicants for a half-time, non-tenure track faculty position for its off-site psychology program at Mount Wachusett Community College's (MWCC) Gardner campus. Responsibilities are as follows:
Developing and teaching two courses each academic year.
- Serving as the academic coordinator for the cohort programs in the MWCC Psychology Program on site on Thursdays at other negotiable times
- Assisting Off-Campus Program Coordinators at other sites with new student and new faculty orientations
- Working collaboratively with Division Chairs, Program Directors and the Associate Dean at Elms College in the selection, retention, and evaluation of faculty in off-site programs
- Working collaboratively with the academic advisors and faculty at MWCC
- Maintaining the integrity of the adult-centered cohort model to promote group cohesion and providing the necessary support for students to persist
- Maintaining scheduled office hours onsite and/or online each week while teaching; responding to student issues, as appropriate, when not teaching
- Attending monthly meetings in the Social Science Division on the Elms College campus
- Adhering to policies in the Elms College Faculty Handbook, Employee Handbook, in the Social Science Division, and other related policies, laws, and regulations
- Maintains knowledge of Elms College academic policies and procedures.
- Notifies the Off-Campus Program Coordinator whenever a class will not meet at the scheduled time
Qualifications
The successful candidate must have a Master's degree and advanced training in Psychology; Doctoral preparation is preferred. Substantial, documented successful teaching experience at the undergraduate level is required. Student evaluations and recommendations from people familiar with the candidate's teaching will be considered. Preference will be given to candidates with some administrative experience in higher education and a track record of student advising and experience developing and teaching online courses. Salary commensurate with experience.

Elms College invites applications for position of Assistant Professor of Social Work in the Bachelor's of Social Work program. This is a full-time, nine-month tenure track faculty position in a growing CSWE accredited program that will begin September 1, 2013.
Responsibilities include teaching across the generalist practice curriculum with (including Saturdays); advising students, and participating in committee work in the governance of the college and the social work program. Qualifications: Ph.D. preferred. Minimum of an MSW, teaching experience, and two (2) years post-MSW practice experience are required. Background check will be conducted for this position.

Adjunct Faculty - Social Work Multiple Instructional Sites (posted 1/16/13)
Elms College is seeking adjunct faculty for its undergraduate Social Work program at various locations: Springfield, Chicopee, Lee, Gardner, Greenfield, Worcester to teach theoretical and applied coursework in Social Work for our accelerated 8-week courses during the calendar year. On-line and hybrid teaching opportunities.

Adjunct faculty work closely with Program Coordinators and Academic Coordinators at the sites. Classes are held on Saturday mornings and afternoons year round.
Qualifications
MSW in Social Work and two (2) years of successful work experience in the field required. Successful teaching experience, especially at the college level preferred.
