The degree offers teachers wide flexibility to
plan programs to meet their professional needs and
goals. The course of study provides the student the
option to expand her/his expertise in education and
in certain academic fields. Completion of the program
requires 33 credit hours. The master’s thesis
is optional. Two additional electives may be taken
in lieu of the thesis.
The program is composed of the following three parts:
- Education and liberal arts electives
- A core of
required courses focusing on thinking skill development,
diversity
issues in schooling, educational technology use,
and research-based
pratice
- An optional research-based
master’s thesis
