International Studies and Business
The international studies
and business major provides an integrated approach to
understanding the historical, economic, social, and
political interactions affecting peoples, cultures,
nations and trans-national business companies. |
| |
|
| |
The interdisciplinary major incorporates three academic
components (international studies, foreign language
and business) and an internship, with the courses of
the liberal arts core curriculum:
- The international studies component
focuses on cultural issues that lead to a grasp of
historical, sociological, political, and economic
conditions in the global community.
- The foreign language component is
essential, because true access to a culture and a
people is through their language. Twelve credits beyond
the intermediate level are required.
- The business component will prepare
students in a professional career track that is enhanced
by the broad global perspective.
- An internship component is required,
either done abroad or with a foreign company in the
U.S.
