Music

The objective of the music curriculum is to guide the student to a deeper understanding and appreciation of music in its aesthetic, cultural, and social contexts.

The Division of Humanities and Fine Art offers a minor in music consisting of 18 credits.

To accomplish this, courses are offered:

  • to develop proficiency in voice and instrument, and
  • to develop theoretical and historical perception.

Any three-credit hour music course - lecture or instrumental groups, concert choir and/or applied piano - may be chosen in partial fulfillment of core curriculum requirements.
