The Department of Nursing prepares nursing graduates who are educated in the arts and sciences, and professionally educated in nursing theory, research, and practice. Graduates are prepared to promote optimal health in individuals, families, groups, and communities. As professional nurse generalists, they practice in a variety of healthcare settings and possess a sound foundation for graduate study in nursing. At the completion of the four-year program, graduates are eligible to sit for the National Council of State Boards of Nursing Licensure Examination for Registered Nurses (N.C.L.E.X.-R.N.).

The program is:

  • approved by the Massachusetts Board of Registration in Nursing
  • accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (C.C.N.E.).
  • a member of Beta Zeta-at-Large Chapter of Sigma Theta Tau International.

"The Elms College nursing program is one of the best, so I was ecstatic when I was accepted. It gets you right out into the field for observation your first year, which is earlier than most schools. It’s a program that emphasizes turning out well-rounded nurses."

Tony Ruggiero,
Nursing Major
