Double Major in Spanish and Legal Studies
Latinos are the fastest growing ethnic group in the United States, according to the U. S. Department of Labor, changing the face of our communities. The justice system is one of many areas in need of professionals who speak Spanish and are familiar with Hispanic cultural backgrounds. The double major in Spanish and legal studies encourages you to combine language and cultural proficiency with an understanding of the legal system.
All courses carry three credits, unless otherwise indicated.

*To enter the Spanish major, students must prove that they have achieved an intermediate level of proficiency in the language. They can do so by scoring at that level in a language proficiency test or by taking the intermediate level courses SPA 201 and 202, which would also satisfy the language core requirement.
