Alumnae Library
The Alumnae Library offers a collection of more than 109,000 volumes, a rare book collection, and access to more than 60 other libraries' resources of more than six million items. As a Federal Depository Library, it houses a collection of government documents. The library staff is skilled in providing research assistance.
The spacious, light-filled building offers comfortable, quiet places for study and relaxation, as well as areas for viewing, listening to, and recording a variety of media.
The library also offers remote access to its research databases for students and faculty. From any computer, users can access password protected journal articles, reference books, dictionaries, federal documents, newspapers, and other on-line resources from more than 50 searchable databases. The system allows users to view and/or print the full text of selected resources, from databases in academic research, general interest, business, education, health, and literature.

Manhattan Virtual Classroom
All professors at Elms College are able to put course information on-line through the "Manhattan Virtual Classroom ", a Web-based server software program for on-line teaching and learning. It can be accessed any time of day or night by students, whether they are on campus or across the country. Professors may post information such as course syllabi, required book lists, lectures, homework assignments, contact information, discussion boards, to augment their on-campus classes, or offer complete courses on-line.

Academic Resource Center
The academic resource center provides all of the academic support services at Elms College. These include tutoring in many of the majors offered at the college, study skills assistance, and services to students with physical and learning disabilities. The director of the academic resource center is also the disabilities coordinator.
The academic resource center is open for tutoring five days a week, and offers assistance to any student (graduate, undergraduate, full time, part time). At present, tutorial help is provided by both peer and professional tutors in the areas of biology, chemistry, communication sciences and disorders, education, mathematics, nursing, paralegal studies, psychology, and writing. Student tutors are recommended by their department chairs and receive extensive training for the first six weeks of the semester to ensure that sound pedagogical practices are employed during the tutorial session. Additional writing tutoring, coordinated by the academic resource center, is available at night in the library. The tutor in the library is available four nights a week, including one night on the weekend. Tutors also assist students with study skills such as listening, note taking, time management, reading, and test taking.
