The Academic Resource Center (ARC)provides tutoring
services for any Elms College student seeking to improve
writing, research, and study skills in a variety of
academic areas. Professional and peer tutors are available
to work with students and their individual learning
styles to help each student achieve maximum academic
success.
ARC also has a variety of
materials available to help students prepare for the
Massachusetts Test for Educator Licensure.

The Academic Resource Center
is located on the second floor of the Alumnae Library,
and its hours are Monday-Friday,
9 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. Tutors are also
available some evenings and weekend hours, by arrangement,
in room 201 of the Alumnae Library. The Office of Students with Disabilities
The Office of Students with Disabilities works with
students who have documented disabilities and helps
facilitate their college experience in accordance with
federal
regulations outlined in the Americans with Disabilities
Act, Section 504 and other
pertinent regulations. We work with students with disabilities
to foster academic success, personal responsibility,
self-advocacy, and leadership.

Services
The coordinator of disability services is the official
contact for faculty and students at Elms College. Services
provided by the office include, but are not limited
to:
- Developing student accommodation plans
- Assisting students with understanding their learning
profiles
- Facilitating students’ contact
with the Academic Resource Center
- Referrals for books on tape
- Training for assistive technology
- Arranging for note takers, test proctors, interpreters
- Referrals for testing
- Assisting with self-advocacy
- Consulting with faculty
- Coordinating with student services including housing,
counseling,
and health services
