Frequently Asked Questions

Q:

What majors are offered online?

Two online majors are offered : Speech Language Pathology Assistant, (SLPA) and Healthcare Management (HCM).

Students may choose to earn an SLPA certificate, associate degree, or bachelor degree. A program of study is also available for those students wishing to earn a second bachelor degree in SLPA. A bachelor degree is available for the HCM major.

Q:

Is there a specific time I need to be online?

The SLPA degree courses are delivered both synchronous and asynchronous. Synchronous online classes require students and instructors to be online at the same time. Lectures, discussions and presentations occur at a specific time. All students must be online at that time to participate. SLPA classes offered asynchronous allow each student to take online courses on their own schedule within a set timeframe. Course materials, lectures, assignments and tests can be accessed at any time. Course schedules and delivery mode are announced prior to each academic session.

All courses for the HCM degree are delivered asynchronous. Courses are announced prior to each academic term. Class time and course requirements are provided to each student by the instructor prior to the course start.
