What majors are offered online?
Two online majors are offered : Speech Language Pathology Assistant, (SLPA) and Healthcare Management (HCM).
Students may choose to earn an SLPA certificate, associate degree, or bachelor degree. A program of study is also available for those students wishing to earn a second bachelor degree in SLPA. A bachelor degree is available for the HCM major.
Is there a specific time I need to be online?
The SLPA degree courses are delivered both synchronous and asynchronous. Synchronous online classes require students and instructors to be online at the same time. Lectures, discussions and presentations occur at a specific time. All students must be online at that time to participate. SLPA classes offered asynchronous allow each student to take online courses on their own schedule within a set timeframe. Course materials, lectures, assignments and tests can be accessed at any time. Course schedules and delivery mode are announced prior to each academic session.
All courses for the HCM degree are delivered asynchronous. Courses are announced prior to each academic term. Class time and course requirements are provided to each student by the instructor prior to the course start.
Will I need to come to the Elms College campus for classes or advising?
Although we welcome all Elms College students near and far to our Chicopee, MA campus, the online programs can be completed without stepping foot on campus.
How do I access classes?
Admitted and registered online students will be assigned an Elms College email and provided full access to our student technology resources for accessing your class through our online learning platform.
How long is each session and total length of program?
Each academic session is eight weeks in length. Most programs are 11 session to completion.
How many credits per degree/certificate:
Are these programs eligible for financial aid?
The programs qualify for financial aid.
Are there any Elms College scholarships available?
While Elms College does not offer scholarships for applicants within the School of Graduate and Professional Studies, we do encourage the applicants to seek outside resources.
What is the deadline for admissions?
Admissions are rolling for all online degrees/certificate.
What do I need to complete my application?
Are SATs and or ACTs required for admissions?
Standardized testing is not required for admissions into the School of Graduate and Professional Studies.
