Kerry Calnan earned her MBA from Western New England University and holds a BS in accounting from Westfield State University. She is the Director of the Elms College MBA Programs and an assistant professor of accounting and finance. She holds a professional license as a certified management accountant and spent ten years in corporate accounting and finance positions prior to becoming an educator. Her industry experience includes Alstom Power, most recently as a Division Controller for a $150M domestic and international business unit. Professor Calnan serves on the Board of Directors of Western Massachusetts Junior Achievement and is the Vice President for the regional council of the International Assembly for Collegiate Business Education (IACBE). As the faculty advisor for the Grinspoon Entrepreneurship Initiative, Ms. Calnan mentors students developing business concepts and opportunities.

He's held profit/loss positions in the plastics and packaging industries in the field of international marketing and global management operations for over 25 years. Mr. Bellenoit is sole proprietor of HRS Trading an international export manufacturer's representative. Since 1985 he's been business management adjunct faculty at various western Massachusetts colleges and universities. Mr. Bellenoit speaks 3 foreign languages and is former board member of the Western Mass Society of Plastics Engineers, former senior member of the Society of Manufacturing Engineers, former member of the Springfield Export Advisory Committee, Who's Who Registry of Global Business Leaders '93-'94, and former Peace Corps El Salvador.

Brenda Canning was awarded her MBA from Western New England University and her BBA from the University of Massachusetts. Canning brings more than 20 years of professional experience to Elms College, most recently as the chief financial officer of Springfield Day Nursery. In addition to teaching, Canning is an internship coordinator and also provides financial consulting services to area businesses.

Dennis Egan received his Juris Doctorate from Western New England University and holds a BA in Political Science a BA in Political Science from the University of Massachusetts. Mr. Egan is attorney with the business and corporate department at Bacon Wilson Attorneys at Law in Springfield, Mass. His professional skills include practical knowledge of corporate and business legal matters, balanced by well-developed advocacy and client-relation skills.
Mark Howard received his doctorate in economics from the University of Massachusetts. He instructs courses including Economics of Healthcare, Economics of Sports, Principles of Macroeconomics, and Principles of Microeconomics. In his research, Howard employs agent-based computational economics in a game theoretic framework, and looks forward to incorporating the same into his teaching at Elms College.

Since 2001, Al Kasper has been the President & Chief Operating Officer of Savage Sports Corp., a leading manufacturer of hunting and sporting firearms, archery equipment, shooting ranges, shoot houses, and targeting systems. Mr. Kasper joined the company in 1996 as its Vice President and Chief Financial Officer and has quickly grown to be a strategic leader for the Company. Previously, Mr. Kasper worked as a Group Controller and Operations Manager for The Conair Group, Inc. in Pittsburgh and an Operations Manager for divisions of Danaher and United Technologies Corporation. He received an MBA from the University of Massachusetts and a BS in Accounting from Western New England University.

Kim Kenney-Rockwal is currently Director of Human Resources at Health New England, located in Springfield, Mass., where she oversees HR Operations, Process Improvement, and contributes to the strategic direction of Talent Management. David Kimball earned his Sc.D. from the University of New Haven, Conn., and he has his BS, BA, and MBA from Western New England University. He is the Chair of the Elms College Division of Business and Law. He co-authored the text Sport Management: Principles, Applications and Skills, now in its second edition. Dr. Kimball is interested in the role that mission statements play in the role of being a globally, socially, oriented organization. He also applies his doctoral research on corporate mission statements to assist students in analyzing organizations such as Starbucks, Nike, Blockbuster, and Ford. As the faculty advisor for the Grinspoon Entrepreneurship Initiative, Dr. Kimball mentors students developing business concepts and opportunities.

Frank Mertes received his M.B.A. from the University Of Massachusetts School Of Management, Amherst, MA. and graduate training form the School of International Training in Intercultural Service, Leadership and Management, Brattleboro, Vermont. He is the Finance Director of the Holyoke Health Center, Inc. A Federally Qualified Community Health Center providing primary medical care, comprehensive dental services, physical therapy service, behavioral health services and pharmacy services. He has worked as a CFO of various public and privately traded companies and as a CPA for Coopers & Lybrand. In addition to his work as a financial executive he has worked with international NGO's in providing economic development services and the deployment of grants in various developing countries.

Eric Peterson brings more than 25 years of experience as a design engineer, manager, and executive in technology-driven positions. He's developed sonar systems for the U.S. Navy at Raytheon and GE, and managed cross-functional product development teams in the U.S., Europe, and Asia to develop consumer electronic items at RCA. While at RCA, he was awarded three U.S. and multiple international patents in the field of CD-player design, and successfully restructured the global product development organization for GE-branded RF products. Mr. Peterson holds a master's degree in Management focused on Strategy and Business Development from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, and is currently completing his Ph.D. at RPI as a National Science Foundation IGERT Fellow.

Dr. Scoble has over three decades of experience in academic, administrative and consultant roles. Beginning as Director of the Division in 2003, she has lead the division's development from a traditional baccalaureate nursing program to now include several educational pathways for advancing the education of RNs and a Master of Science in Nursing. Dr. Scoble has previously held faculty appointments at Teachers College, Columbia University and the University of MA Boston; and several administrative positions in acute care organizations ranging from unit manager to chief nurse executive. Her areas of expertise include nursing services and health administration, organizational assessment, professional practice models for nursing and management and leadership development. Recognized for her leadership in professional nursing both nationally and abroad, Dr. Scoble currently serves as President of the MA Association of Colleges of Nursing and co-chairs the MA Institute of Medicine Action Coalition. Consulting internationally for the Institute for Nursing Healthcare Leadership and Partners Healthcare International (formerly Partners Harvard Medical International) since 1999, Dr. Scoble has had programmatic experience in multiple countries including Colombia, India, China, Dubai, and Turkey. Father Mark Stelzer is a native of the Diocese of Springfield and was ordained to the priesthood in 1983. He joined the Elms adjunct faculty in 1986 and has concurrently served in several pastoral and leadership positions on the diocesan level. From 1999 to 2003 he served as director of the Springfield Catholic Healthcare Chaplaincy. In November 2003, Father Stelzer was appointed acting president of Elms College, a position he held until June 2005. He now serves as college chaplain and associate professor of humanities. In addition to his responsibilities at the college, Father Stelzer is a chaplain and consultant at the Western Massachusetts Regional Women's Correctional Center in Chicopee.
Kevin Sweeney, J.D.

Kevin Sweeney is the Interim Executive Director for DevelopSpringfield. DevelopSpringfield was formed as a nonprofit in 2008 to pursue development projects in Springfield and to aid private development. Kevin is responsible for implementing an operating plan for DevelopSpringfield, preparing and executing a broader long-term strategy for the organization, and beginning the implementation of the Rebuild Springfield Master Plan. Sweeney will also be accountable for managing ongoing and new DevelopSpringfield revitalization projects, including,the Eastern Gateway Project, a mixed-use development plan for the State Street corridor. Sweeney worked for Massachusetts Mutual Life Insurance Co. of Springfield for 19 years, most recently as a managing director of MassMutual Capital Partners LLC. With MassMutual, he was responsible for strategic mergers and acquisitions and other transactions. Kevin Sweeney received his MBA jointly from NYU Stern School of Business, the London School of Economics, and the HEC School of Management in Paris as a graduate of TRIUM. Kevin received his J.D. from the University of Wisconsin Law School and his BA from the University of Massachusetts. Dr. Thielen is a nurse administrator, educator and researcher. In her administrative role as Associate Director, Dr. Thielen coordinates the traditional undergraduate program. Her areas of expertise in teaching include gerontology, nursing theory, and most recently informatics in nursing and healthcare. Her research interests include cognitive impairment, care giving of those with memory problems and care of the older adult. Her doctoral dissertation entitled, "Women's Experiences While Undergoing Chemotherapy for Breast Cancer" has been presented at research conferences in several locations in the Northeast. Dr. Thielen was selected to attend the American Association of Nurses (AACN) "train the trainer "conferences for both the Gerontology Nursing Education Conference (GNEC) and the Quality and Safety in Nursing Education (QSEN). She is an active member and vice-president of Beta Zeta Chapter at Large of Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing, and serves as president of the Board of Directors of the Chicopee Visiting Nurses Association.

Prior to joining St. Germain in 1995, he was the second vice president of General Reinsurance Corporation in Stamford, Conn., where he managed the firm's $2.5 billion equity portfolio. Paul sits on various boards, for- and not-for profit companies such as The Springfield Performing Arts Development Corporation and Junior Achievement of Western Massachusetts. Mr. Valickus earned his MBA in finance from New York University's Stern School of Business, and holds a BA in economics and accounting from the College of the Holy Cross.
