Want to be a doctor but need to enhance your GPA or fill in pre-med coursework? Elms College offers Postbac PreMed certificate program.



Open to students who have earned a B.A. or B.S. from an accredited college or university, the program is designed for those who need further undergraduate course work to meet professional health program prerequisites. Students seeking to improve their GPA and enhance their academic and extracurricular record can complete the postbacc premed program in 2 semesters (less than 1 year). Students seeking to change their career by taking premed  prerequisite courses for the first time can complete their studies in 4 semesters (less than 2 years).

Boasting a solid matriculation rate, Elms College Postbaccalaureate Premedical program has enabled students to enter medical school, PA school, veterinary school and other professional health schools and graduate programs.

  • 2015-2016 program completion students have received MCAT scores well over the national average
  • Of students who complete program requirements and achieve the minimum professional program requirements we report:
    • 100% success rate for matriculants to physician assistant schools
    • 94% success rate for matriculants to medical schools
    • 93% success rate for matriculants to veterinary schools

The program enrolls  20-30 students each academic year from across the United States and internationally in plans of study that meet the most current premedical prerequisite course requirements with thorough PCAT, DAT, OAT and GRE and new 2015 MCAT preparation. Tuition includes 50% subsidization of MCAT (or PCAT, OAT, DAT or GRE) Prep Course.

Postbaccalaureate Premedical program faculty are focused on student education. The program fosters a supportive environment for education and collaborative learning where student interaction and peer support are highly encouraged. Academic advisement and application preparation are focused on readying students to enter medical school or the health professional school of their choice. Elms College is ideally situated in a region populated with many hospitals, medical centers, clinics and other health professional offices offering a variety of job, and volunteering opportunities in nearby research and healthcare facilities. Postbac Premed housing located next to the college campus is available for a limited number of enrolled students on a first-come-first-serve basis. We are accepting applications for Spring 2017, Summer 2017 and Fall 2017 semesters. Deadline for applications for Spring 2017 is December 30, 2016. Please remember that we offer rolling admissions. Earlier applications and if accepted, earlier enrollments will reserve your seat in the upcoming class. Standardized test scores are NOT required for admission.

Application deadlines for Summer 2017 is May 1, 2017 and for Fall 2017 is deadline August 22, 2017.  Please be sure to indicate on the top of the application in the region specified what semester (fall, spring or summer and the year) that you plan to begin your attendance in the program.
