reputation
for
preparing teachers at the undergraduate and graduate
levels. A master of arts in teaching (M.A.T.) degree
program, with
a strong liberal arts character, is Elms College's
response to recent national and local trends in teacher
education.
Additional education beyond the bachelor's degree is
now recommended to produce teachers with a breadth

teach. Candidates in this graduate program have opportunities
in the classroom and through extensive fieldwork to

national and state priorities along with providing
a program to
serve the professional development needs of the western
Massachusetts region.
