Fulbright Language Teaching Assistants

Anna Ni Choirbin

Fulbright Scholars, Language Teachers

Through a longstanding relationship with the Fulbright Commission, each year Elms College hosts Fulbright Language Teaching Assistants who bring their language and cultural knowledge to our students. Our instructors are Fulbright Scholars and passionate world-travelers and educators who have many unique experiences to share with our students. Each FLTA spends one year at Elms College.

In the past we have hosted FLTAs from Morocco, Ireland, and Japan. 2012 graduate David Peters was the first Elms College student to earn an FLTA post in Taiwan.

During the 2016-2017 academic year, Elms College will host one FLTA - Anna Ní Choirbín from Ireland. Anna completed her B.A. in modern Irish and English at the National University of Ireland Galway in 2008 and completed a Dioplóma Iarchéime san Oideachas and an M.A. at University of Ireland Galway in 2010. She has been a secondary school teacher for the past 6 years and will teach novice and intermediate courses in the Irish language at Elms.

We invite all Elms students to take a class with our visiting FLTA, and to get to know them at our many international events.
