We prepare students for careers in:
- medical technology
- the life sciences
- applied mathematics
The department also cooperates
in the program leading to the natural science major,
which prepares students for teaching science at elementary
and junior high school levels, or for careers requiring
a broadly-based scientific background.
Chemistry majors are required to
learn introductory computer programming. To fulfill this requirement, a student may take a computer-programming
course or satisfactorily demonstrate knowledge in the area of programming languages.
Also, knowledge of French or German is strongly recommended.
The department also recommends that chemistry majors
take appropriate mathematics courses beyond those listed.
