Division of Social Sciences
Departments in the Division of Social Sciences include
psychology, social work and sociology. Students majoring
in psychology or sociology earn a bachelor of arts;
social work students earn a bachelor of science. Study
in the social sciences focuses on human behavior and
organization from psychological, cultural and social
perspectives.
Students are expected to achieve an understanding
of culture, society, individual development, social
interaction and research methods.
Students are encouraged to focus in one discipline,
but have opportunities to expand this knowledge through
courses, which are cross-listed with other majors.
Internships and clinical experiences are available
and encouraged (and sometimes required) to provide
experience outside the classroom.
