*The total cost of attending Elms College can be broken down into two categories: direct and indirect costs. Direct Costs are the charges billed directly to the student by the college (tuition, fees, room and board). Indirect Costs are other expenses necessary to obtain an education (books, supplies, travel and personal expenses).

** Massachusetts law requires that all students enrolled in nine or more credits must have health insurance coverage. Rates are $1400 for domestic students and $1550 for international students (coverage is from 9/1 to 8/31). All students must visit www.universityhealthplans.com to waive/enroll in insurance.

*** There is an additional charge of $300 per semester for a private room.

Explanation of Fees

  • Total fees include a comprehensive fee which covers; services and benefits provided by the fitness center, counseling, the wellness center, career services, class dues, the yearbook, student activities, student governmentand the Dean of Students office. Additionally, a technology fee is paid by all students and is used for technology resources for general student use.
  • Graduation and orientation fees: For new students a $55 non-refundable orientation fee will be added to the semester bill. For students meeting graduation requirements, a $55 non-refundable graduation fee will be added to the semester bill. This fee covers participation in events leading up to and including graduation.

TUITION FOR PART-TIME UNDERGRADUATES AND GRADUATE

Part-time tuition for the academic year beginning July 1, 2007 is $482 per undergraduate credit and $562 per graduate and post graduate credit.

 

 

Payment Information for all students

  • Payment in Full
    …Fall balances due August 1, 2008. Spring balances due, January 1, 2009. Cash, checks, MasterCard, American Express, Discover, and VISA are accepted in the Student Accounts Office.
  • There will be a $25.00 fee assesed for all checks returned for insufficient funds.

NOTE: Accounts over 30 days will be assessed a 1.5% finance charge.

  • Interest-Free Monthly Payment Plan
    …administered by Tuition Management Systems. This payment plan allows students to divide college costs into monthly interest-free installments. (e.g. a student paying for 10 months would begin making his/her monthly payment on the first of June with each subsequent payment due on the first of each month.) Students must enroll directly with TMS for a $65 annual application fee. Students should sign up with TMS as early as possible to maximize the number of monthly payments to be made, which will lower the required monthly payment.
