Forty-five years and four states didn't deter a group of 1971 Elms' alumnae from enjoying a reunion of their own. In years past, destinations for this annual get together have included Block Island and New York City. This year the group of friends chose to meet in Cape May, New Jersey.
Within hours of everyone's arrival, we were suddenly transported back to O'Leary Hall sitting in the "smoker", listening to Judy Collins singing From Both Sides Now. But instead of sharing escapades of Holy Cross mixers, we were swapping anecdotes of our families and sharing details of the past year.
Days were spent taking a trolley tour through the Victorian house-lined streets and shopping at the town's many specialty stores. The weekend was filled with lively conversations, competitive word games, and bridge. Plans are now in the works for next year's event.
