On Easter Monday 1916, an armed insurrection was mounted by Irish nationalists to end British rule and establish an independent Irish Republic.

The "Of Terrible and Splendid Things" A Commemoration of the Easter Rising 1916exhibit features information on the pivotal Irish event curated by students in the Exhibition History class.

The exhibit is presented by the Division of Humanities and Fine Arts in partnership with the Irish Cultural Center of Western New England and the Ancient Order of Hibernians.
