The Reserve Collection is located on the first floor in the Circulation Department.  All reserve items must be requested at the circulation desk.  The reserves contain material designated by college faculty as high-use or required readings for specific courses.  This material may include books, articles from periodicals and audio/visual material or special items loaned by faculty.

Eligible borrowers:
Any registered Elms College student and Elms faculty member possessing a valid college photo ID/library card.

Restrictions on use:
Restrictions are determined by the faculty member who placed the material on reserve or by the library's reserve staff.

Library Use Only:
2 hour loan.  Items may not be taken out of the library.  Request for renewal must be made in person at the Circulation Desk.

Open Reserves:
Items may be taken out of the library for periods ranging from 2 hours to one week.

Charge-out Procedures:
When charging out reserve items the borrower must produce a valid student ID.  Items will be charged out to a student's library account.

Overdue items:
The fine for overdue material is $1.00 per hour for Library Use Only and $5.00 per day for Open Reserve items.  An item overdue for 10 days will be considered lost.  The borrower will be billed for the average cost of an item plus late fines and a processing charge.  If an item is located in undamaged condition within 60 days of billing date, an adjusted refund will be processed.  Sanctions my be applied by the Registrar until a student's library account is settled.
