Reunion 2014: Many Milestones

Reminiscing and reconnecting were the main activities on May 30 and 31 as Elms College welcomed back alumni of all eras for Reunion 2014.

This year marked the induction of the Class of 1964, celebrating its 50th anniversary, into the Golden Blazers. In addition to reunions between classes, festivities included a number of special events.

Nursing alumni gathered to visit the specialized training labs for nursing students in the Center for Natural and Health Sciences, touring the new Simulation Labs. Also the inaugural Distinguished Alumni Award in Nursing was presented to Cidalia Vital '03.

The Social Work program at Elms celebrated its 60th anniversary with founder Father Vincent O'Connor, now 91. He noted that, when he started the program in 1954, there were there no bachelor's degrees available in social work nationwide, only master's degree programs.
