Certificate Programs

Certificate Programs in Nursing Management and Nursing Education are designed to provide advanced course work in specialty areas for bachelor's or master's-prepared nurses seeking th expand their competencies as nurse managers or nurse educators. The Certificate is equivalent to 12 graduate credits transferable to an M.S.N. degree if matriculation occurs within 2 years of completion of the certificate.

The Certificate Program in Nursing Management will be offered to MS Nursing Students and also to Pre- and Post- master's certificate students who wish to advance their management competencies.  The Certificate amounts to 12 academic credits and selected from the following courses:

Certificate Courses

  • NUR 500 Professional Role of the Advance Practice Nurse
  • NUR 640 Leadership and Management
  • NUR 615 Business of Healthcare
  • NUR 625 Financial Management
  • NUR 635 Managing Human Capital
  • NUR 650 Information Systems in Health Care and Nursing
  • NUR 530 Policy, Law and Ethics in Health Care

Nurses who hold a baccalaureate in Nursing degree and a certificate may apply the certificate credits toward an M.S.N. degree if they matriculate within 2 years of completion of the certificate.
