Why return for a Masters in Nursing?

The M.S.N. degree is designed to build on baccalaureate nursing education to prepare the graduate for advanced practice nursing roles, and serves as a foundation for doctoral study. An expedited R.N. to B.S. to M.S.N. program is also available.

The program is taught by a highly qualified, interdisciplinary faculty from the Divisions of Nursing, Business, and Education.

M.S.N. Degree Program Requirements

Prerequisites include:

  • A baccalaureate degree in nursing from a nationally accredited school of nursing. (Non-baccalaureate nurses may enroll in this program through the R.N. to M.S.N. option.)
  • Minimum undergraduate grade point averaged (GPA) of 3.0, or completion of 6 graduate credits with a minimum GPA of 3.0.
  • Eligible for licensure as a registered nurse in Massachusetts.

Faculty

One of our greatest strengths is that each student has close interactions with the faculty and an advisor on the nursing faculty who guides her or him through the program. And, this is a faculty that really cares! Not only are they highly qualified clinically and academically, they are experts in their fields. And they care about each and every one of the students in the program - about helping them develop and improve their nursing skills, critical thinking ability, ethical decision-making processes, and a comprehensive grasp of current medical technology used by nurses.
