How do I get my student identification card?
The Elms College student ID card is issued through the Dean of Students
Office. Your student ID allows you to receive student discounts at area
attractions as well as access campus computer labs, the library, food
services the Maguire Center for Health and Fitness, and other campus
services. The Dean of Students Office is located on the first floor of
the Mary Dooley College Center.
How do I get my library card?
Once you have your student ID card, the library will issue you a bar
code to be placed on the back of your ID card. This allows you to participate
in the many services of our library, and the libraries throughout the
area. Contact the library staff to set-up a tour and become acquainted
with Elms College Alumnae Library’s services.
Where are the computer labs on campus? Will I be able to use the labs?
There are computer labs on campus that are available to all Elms College
students. You will need your student ID card to use a lab on campus.
The labs are located on the first floor of the Mary Dooley College Center
and in Berchmans Hall, rooms 204, 208, and 214.
Will I be issued an email address as a student at Elms?
Yes! You will need to sign up for an account through the Information
Services Office located on the second floor of the Mary Dooley College
Center. Ask the Information Services’ staff how to check your
account from work or home. They can be reached at techsupport@elms.edu.
Will I have an academic advisor?
If you are matriculating in a specific academic program, you will be
assigned an advisor through your department of study. If you are undecided,
you can receive academic advising through the Academic Dean's Office located in Berchmans
Hall on the first floor.They can be reached at (413)
265-2222.
Additionally, we have an Academic Resource Center located on the second
floor of the Alumnae Library. Tutors are available to assist
you with any academic subject area, study skills, writing skills, and
test anxiety. The hours of the ARC are posted on the door or you can
contact the ARC at (413) 265-2376.
Is there a food plan for part-time undergraduates and graduate students?
Aramark, our food service vendor, provides all students with the opportunity
to purchase Blazer Dollars to be used to purchase food in the dining
hall or the snack bar. Every time you use the Blazer
Dollar system, money
will be deducted from your student ID card, so you do not need to carry
cash. In addition, you will receive a small discount towards the purchase
of your food. To purchase Blazer Dollars, simply stop by the cashier
station during business hours.
The hours of operation are Monday-Thursday
7:00 a.m.-7:00 p.m.; Fridays 7:00 a.m.-6:00 p.m.; Weekends and
Holidays 9:00 a.m.-1:00 p.m., 4:30-6:00
p.m. (open until 6:30 p.m. on Sunday evenings only). The Common Ground
snack bar located in the cafeteria is open Monday-Thursday 7:00-11:00
p.m.
There are also vending machines available in the Mary Dooley College
Center, the Maguire Center and the basement of Berchmans Hall.
Is there an ATM on campus?
Yes, there is a Chicopee Savings Bank ATM located in the lobby
of the Mary Dooley College Center.
Are lockers available?
Yes! Simply sign up for a locker in the Dean of Students Office
(first floor of the Mary Dooley College Center). The lockers are
located
in the basement of the Mary Dooley College Center. Students
must provide
their own lock.
Where can I receive help completing my 30-hour community service
project (graduate students excluded)?
The Campus Ministry Office, headed by Sr. Maureen Kervick can
assist part-time undergraduate students identify a community
service sight
or support an ongoing community service project. Drop-by Campus
Ministry to learn more about alternatives for annual service
projects and
other

Is there a Career Center on campus?
Yes! The Career Center can help students identify internship
sights, community service locations, summer employment opportunities,
and
future professional-employment opportunities. The Career Center
staff can assist
students identify and clarify their short and long term goals,
qualities, skills,
knowledge, talents, and abilities while engrossing these qualifications
towards any hands-on learning experience. The Career Center can

What about parking?
Parking stickers are free and issued during orientation
days and the first two weeks of the semester at the information
booth of the College Center.
May I use the fitness facilities?
Membership in the Maquire Center is available to part-time students
for a fee. Information is included in the orientation packet
or by calling

Where do I purchase books?
The bookstore is located in the lower level of the College Center.
The bookstore is open for extended hours during the first two
weeks of the semester. Call 594-2999 for details.
How do I get campus mail?
Most part-time students prefer to receive mail at home. However,
if you would like to have a campus mailbox adjacent to the Registrar's
office in Berchmann's Hall, you can do so by contacting us at
265-2314.
How do I learn about campus events?
Campus events (including sporting events) are listed on this website
in our news and events section.You can browse the listings or
