    Information Literacy (Faculty)

    Information Literacy is the ability to locate, evaluate, and use information effectively and ethically. It is an essential component in the educational development of each student-- both for success in school as well as later in life. The research process has become increasingly challenging with technology contributing to information overload. Students should be aware of the range of print and electronic resources-- including networked databases, the World Wide Web, and traditional print resources.

    The Alumnae Library's Reference staff cultivates these skills through Information Literacy Sessions-- both in the classroom and individually upon request, and assesses them by using an Information Literacy exam.
