"My professor wanted to make sure that I truly understood the material, not just get a good test score."
Dedicated Faculty: It's the Elms Effect
I once bombed a test in a class that I was doing otherwise really well in. The professor asked me after class what happened, and we talked through everything. We didn't just leave it at, "Oh, you did poorly, but it's okay because you're still getting a good grade in the class." She wanted to make sure that I truly understood the material, not just get a good test score. That kind of dedication is inspirational.
