"The opportunity for students to meet with the faculty one-on-one is something I really enjoy about Elms."

Close Ties with Faculty: It's the Elms Effect

My introduction to the field of speech language pathology came when my father suffered a stroke, which affected his ability to swallow. A speech language pathologist was regularly involved with his rehabilitation, and eventually made it possible for him to speak with an electrical device. The profession offers several different areas in which to work, including children in public schools, and hospitals with stroke or head trauma patients.

The small class sizes and direct access to faculty at Elms were factors that helped me make the decision to apply. My professors have been more than willing to assist me with specifics about classes, or give guidance about future coursework. Other department faculty, the registrar, financial aid, and the continuing education program staff have been more than welcoming and quick to respond to a question. I feel that they are all willing to help you succeed.
