"Being here made me realize the importance of going to college and how much it can be like home."
They Always Have My Back
After a scholarship at another college fell through, I didn't know what to do next. I had just graduated and didn't have a plan B. That's when I met coach Silva. He recruited me for the Elms College basketball team on a Friday and convinced me to visit that Saturday. By Monday, I was officially a student.
When I decided to change my major from accounting to psychology, Elms College made it easy, and I decided to keep taking business classes and do a double major.
That's the way things are here. There's a real community, and people help you. All the professors here are willing to do whatever their students need, and no one will ever give up on you. I'm looking forward to graduate school and moving forward from everything I've learned so far.
Being here made me realize the importance of going to college and how much it can be like home. The people who leave and move on, they always come back to visit. They miss the college and the people.
My parents always told me "you'll make your best friends at college." And they were right. I've made lifelong friends here.
