Internet Explorer 7x or Higher
To Change Your Privacy Settings to Medium & Enable Cookies
- Click on the "Tools" button
- Select "Internet Options"
- Click the "Privacy" tab
- Leave the privacy slider at "Medium" (default setting)
- Click the "Sites" button
- In the "Address of Website" field
- Type in the following domain names:
- cwmars.org - then click "allow" button
- elms.edu - then click "allow" button
8. Click the "Apply" button
9. Click "OK" again
NOTE: If the "Medium" privacy settings do not work, you may change the settings to "Accept All Cookies." Because this is a security issue, please change setting only for the length of your session using the databases.
To Change "Medium Setting" to "Accept All Cookies"
- Click on the "Tools" button
- Select "Internet Options"
- Click on the "Privacy" tab
- Change the privacy slider from "Medium" (default setting) to "Accept All Cookies"
- Click "Apply"
- Click "OK"
- Close or Refresh your Browser
Internet Explorer 6x
To Enable Cookies
- Click "Tools"
- Click "Internet Options"
- Click "Privacy"
- Check "Settings" to see if it says anything except "Accept All Cookies"
- If you see text that says "Custom" and no slider bar
6. Click on the slider bar and drag it down until it says "Accept All Cookies"
- Click "Default" button
7. Click "Apply"
8. Click "OK"
- Click "Privacy"
- Click "Advanced"
- Click "Override Automatic Cookie Handling"
- Under "1st-Party" & "3rd-party" cookies
5. Click "Always Allow Session Cookies"
- Click "Enable"
6. Click "OK"
To Enable Java Scripting
- Click "Tools"
- Click "Internet Options"
- Click "Security"
- Click the Internet Zone - has a world icon
- Click "Custom Level"
- Scroll down list to "Scripting"
- Under "Active Scripting"
8. Under "Scripting of Java Applets"
- Click "Enable"
9. Scroll down list "Microsoft (Java) VM"
- Click "Enable"
- Click "Java Permissions"
- Click "OK"
NOTE: Those using Internet Explorer 6x also need to add the Remote Database website address into the browser options:
- Click "Tools"
- Click "Internet Option"
- Click "Privacy"
- Move the zone setting (slide bar) to Medium
- Under Website box, click "Edit"
- When website address window appears
7. Type in remote database address domain - cwmars.org
- Click in the website address box
- Click "Allow"
- Click "OK"
Internet Explorer 5x
To Enable Cookies
- Click "Tools"
- Click "Internet Options"
- Click the "Security" tab
- Click the "Internet Zone" - has a world icon
- Click "Custom Level"
- Scroll down list to "Cookies"
- Under "Allow cookies that are stored on your computer"
8. Under "Allow Per-session Cookies"
- Click "Enable"
- Click "Enable"
To Enable Java Scripting
- Click "Tools"
- Click "Internet Options"
- Click the "Security" tab
- Click the "Internet Zone" - has a world icon
- Click "Custom Level"
- Scroll down list to "Scripting"
- Under "Active Scripting"
- Click "Enable"
- Click "OK"
Internet Explorer 4x
To Enable Cookies
- Click "View"
- Click "Internet Options"
- Click "Advanced" tab
- Scroll down list to the "Security" section
- Under "Cookies" - click "Always Accept Cookies"
- Click "Apply"
To Enable Java Scripting
- Click "View"
- Click "Internet Options"
- Click "Advanced" tab
- Scroll down list to "Java" section
- Click "Enable Java JIT compiler"
- Click "OK"
