The mandala sand painting begins with an opening ceremony, during which the lamas consecrate the site and call forth the forces of goodness. This is done by means of chanting, music and mantra recitation.
The Mandala creation will begin Monday, Sept 30 – Friday, Oct 4th
The Opening Ceremony is Monday, Sept 30th at 12:30pm in the Library Well.
There will be a presentation on Symbolism of the Sand Mandala
on Wed Oct 2nd at 2:30pm in the Library Theater.
Closing Ceremony is Fri Oct 4th at 12:30pm.
