Dr. Childers became a nurse after many years of teaching sociology and women’s studies. Her practice has been in adult and adolescent mental health nursing. She served as interim director of nursing at Elms from 2000 to 2003. Dr. Childers’ areas of expertise are nursing theory, the evolution of nursing and scholarly writing.
