Andrew Coston, Ed.D.

Andrew Coston, Ed. D. started at Elms College as vice president for Student Affairs in October 2022. He is responsible for the strategic oversight and management of the college’s student affairs office. In that role, he leads and supervises the offices of the Dean of Students, Director of Campus Ministry, Director of Residence Life, Director of the Health Center, Director of Student Engagement and Leadership, Director of Diversity and Inclusion, Director of Food Service, and the Director of the Counseling Center.

He also reports directly to President Dumay.

Dr. Coston came to Elms from Gustavus Adolphus College, a private liberal arts college in St. Peter, Minnesota, where he served as assistant dean of students and executive director of the college’s Center for Career Development. Before that, he was director of career services at Cecil College, a public college in Bay View, Maryland.

He has more than 20 years of higher education experience in student affairs and career services. He holds a doctoral degree in education from Morgan State University in Maryland, a master’s degree in school counseling at Loyola College in Maryland, and a bachelor’s degree in psychology from Assumption College in Worcester.
