Jane McCarry, M.Ed. 2012, has worked in the Kirley School of Continuing Education since its inception, formerly known as the School of Graduate and Professional Studies/Graduate Studies and Continuing Education. Jane has worked at Elms College since 2008. Students interested in pursuing a credit for prior learning portfolio review should meet with Jane for guidance in the process.
As an environmental educator and naturalist, she spent over 20 years working at several nature centers in West Virginia, North Carolina, Florida, Connecticut, and Massachusetts. She teaches our Inquiry-Based Natural Science education course and Health, Safety and Nutrition. She is certified to lead workshops on Project WILD, Aquatic Wild and Growing Up Wild which are national programs supported by Mass Wildlife.
She serves as the Elms College Chapter Councilor for Alpha Sigma Lambda – Gamma Omega Chapter, a national honor society for non-traditional students. Jane is an Associate of the Sisters of St. Joseph of Springfield, and an active member of their SEED (Sharing in Earth’s Ecological Design) committee.
