Elms College President Harry E. Dumay, Ph.D., MBA, and the Institutional Department at the college have launched a $20 million capital campaign, Building Bridges: The Campaign for Elms College.

This campaign coincides with the college’s 95th Anniversary and the goal is to reach the $20 million threshold by June 2025.

Amidst a changing landscape for higher education, the Building Brides campaign has already supported – during its quiet phase – many initiatives of the college’s successful strategic plan, anchored around the “5Es”:

  • Excel in Academics
  • Expand Experiential Learning
  • Elevate Ethical Leadership
  • Engage our Learning Community
  • Enhance Sustainability

“Elms College has provided a rigorous, high-quality education since our founding in 1928 by the Sisters of St. Joseph of Springfield. Together, through Building Bridges: The Campaign for Elms College, we will harness the collective resolve, creativity, and determination of the Elms community, and lay the groundwork for future generations of students,” said Dumay.

“There are wonderful things happening at Elms and we are grateful for the benefactors who have made transformational gifts to the campaign,” said Bernadette Nowakowski, vice president of Institutional Advancement.

Elms College has secured several major donations over the past few years in support of the campaign. These include gifts from Donald and Michele D’Amour, Cynthia and William Lyons, Regina ’71 and Joseph Hitchery, Francis Kirley, and the W.K. Kellogg Foundation.
