The role served by the college administration is that of stewardship. We are stewards of our students’ futures and campus resources. The college’s operations and major decisions are guided by the president and his administrative cabinet, comprised of senior college staff. The office of the president is in turn overseen by the board of trustees, which serves a crucial function in carrying out the college’s vision and mission in a strategic manner.

A Message from the President of Elms College

Welcome to College of Our Lady of the Elms, a distinguished provider of Catholic higher education in western New England, founded by the Sisters of St. Joseph.

For more than 85 years, Elms’s distinctiveness has been our unique blend of academic excellence, strong sense of community, and commitment to justice and diversity. Our students often begin their Elms careers with a passion for positive change, and leave with the leadership tools necessary to make change happen.

At Elms, we treat you as an individual. The personal attention you receive from our faculty and staff will give you the support and confidence you need to succeed after Elms, whether it is to further your education or begin your career.

Our academic programs are organized in six divisions and two schools:

  • Business
  • Communication Sciences and Disorders
  • Education
  • Humanities and Fine Arts
  • Natural Sciences, Mathematics, and Technology
  • Social Sciences
  • The School of Nursing
  • School of Graduate and Professional Studies

We offer undergraduate programs, graduate, doctoral and continuing education opportunities; especially in the areas of education and healthcare.

Our goal is not simply to prepare you for a career, but to help you develop as a whole person, physically, spiritually, and emotionally, as well as intellectually. Elms College graduates are successful in the workforce because they are well-rounded, critical thinkers. They are successful in advanced studies because they are principled, responsible, and rigorous learners. They are successful in life because they care about the welfare of others.

Please take the time to get to know us. Explore our website. Better yet, visit us and interact with our exceptional community of scholars: our wonderful students, dedicated faculty, and committed staff.

Being a part of Elms will change your life, and help you create positive change in others.

Sincerely,
