New Biotechnolgy Major Coming Fall 2020

Beginning this fall, students at Elms will be able to earn their BA with a concentration in biotechnology research. This new program is research-intensive and challenges students to become independent thinkers in lab settings.

“Students learn how to run an experiment on their own,
organize themselves in the lab, evaluate the results of
experiments, and determine what must be done next,” said Sudad Saman, Ph.D., lecturer in biomedical sciences. “Students leaving Elms will have been exposed to all of
the methods and techniques that make them competitive when applying for jobs in this field.”

In fall 2021, an accelerated master’s degree program (18 months) will also be offered.
