The Elms College ElmSTEMs program, supported by a grant from the National Science Foundation, provides scholarships and programming to students who major in STEM fields and attend Elms College. Transfer students in the  majors Biology, Biotechnology, Computer Science, Computer Information Technology and Security, Chemistry, or Mathematics and who have financial need are invited to apply to the ElmSTEMs scholarship program. Please note that students must be interested in STEM careers other than pre-medical or professions to be eligible for this NSF scholarship. We will start reviewing applications on Dec. 1st, 2022

To be eligible for the ElmSTEMs scholarship, you must:

  • Be a prospective transfer student for the Spring 2023 semester at Elms College with at least 60 credits and less than 90 credits,
  • Be a prospective major in Biology, Biotechnology, Computer Science, Computer Information Technology and Security, Chemistry, or Mathematics. This scholarship is not for students interested in clinical fields such as pre-medical professions or elementary or secondary education.
  • Be a citizen or national of the United States, alien admitted as refugee, or alien lawfully admitted for permanent residence
  • Have FAFSA documented financial need. Pell grant eligible full time students are eligible for $10,000 in scholarship per year ($5,000 for the spring semester). Full-time students with EFC (expected family contribution) less than $10,000 are eligible for $5,000 in scholarship per year ($2,500 per semester). Part-time students are eligible for half the amount of full-time students.  Students with an EFC more than $10,000 are not eligible for this scholarship.
  • Underrepresented communities in the sciences such as African-American, Latinx, female students, and first-generation college students are strongly encouraged to apply.

To apply for the Elm STEMs Scholarship:

  • Fill out the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) form for financial need for Elms College (school code: 002140).
  • Apply to Elms as a transfer student for Spring 2023
  • Fill out the following scholarship application form for the scholarship:
